Land Surveyor

Foth is a consulting engineering, science and construction services firm delivering technical solutions for public and private clients around the corner and around the globe. We are currently seeking a self-motivated, results-oriented Land Surveyor for our Des Moines, IA location.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Provide technical engineering and project management skills as a lead surveyor for our transportation engineering projects
* Attend client meetings, participate in proposals/presentations, manage projects, attend trade shows, meet with regulatory agencies
* Assist as client contact on complex, multi-disciplined transportation projects
* Perform Iowa DOT right-of-way platting including research, horizontal and vertical control, collect topography, prepare base maps, compute existing R/W, parcel lines, permanent and temporary easements, and write descriptions for purchasing of R/W and easements.
* Prepare legal descriptions
* Conduct easement surveys, description writing, interpretation, and layout
* Complete property and site surveys
* Perform topographic surveys, construction staking and boundary/control surveying and mapping
* Coordinate project planning and schedulingwith local survey resources as well as resources in other Foth offices
* Demonstrate behavior consistent with Foth Basic Principles and Values

* Travel as required for field work and/or other client/business objectives

Required Qualifications:

* Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent education and experience
* Minimum of 10 years experience with
* Iowa DOT experience with ROW Platting
* Iowa DOT experience with TPP Platting
* Iowa Professional Land Surveyor License
* Previous client interaction experience in support of business development

Preferred Qualifications:

* MicroStation/Geopak and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D design software
* Trimble Robotic Total Station
* Trimble GPS
